I always make sure I do my skincare routine in the AM + PM but I have my lazy days where I am exhausted and just want to go to bed. It doesn’t happen too often but when it does I know it'll take me literally less than 3 minutes to do my skincare routine.
All skin types are different and we all have different concerns that we want to focus on but no matter what your skin care needs are ALWAYS remember the skin loves to be clean and absolutely loves to be hydrated (yes, even if you have oily skin). Your skin will thank you the next day and you’ll feel so much better after this Lazy Girl Skincare Routine.
First things first, you want to cleanse your skin.
If you are wearing makeup I’d highly recommend to cleanse with an oil cleanser or milky cleanser to really break down the makeup before you go in with your go to cleanser. Since we are doing a Lazy Skincare routine you really do want to take the time to focus on cleansing your skin rather than using that time to apply serums or use a mask.
My favorite oil cleanser is the Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil. This oil cleanser really does breakdown my makeup without leaving me a film or unpleasant greasy feel on my face afterwards.
For the days I don't wear makeup and just need to cleanse my face I use the Naturopathica Aloe Cleansing Gel, this is also my second cleanser I go in with after I use the oil cleanser. This cleanser is so amazing, it won't strip the skin, it calms any inflammation or redness I may have and feels really gentle on my dry skin. Super great cleanser. I’ve been using this cleanser for about a year now and it is still my go to trusted cleanser.
Next is Toner, an optional step
Now that the skin is clean. This is a completely optional step. I love to use a spray toner because it's super quick and effortless, it's a perfect transition to my moisturizer especially since we won’t be diving into any serums. Spray toner is key to the Lazy Girl Skincare Routine. My current favorite is the CoQ-10 Toner from Indie Lee which has yummy anti-inflammatory and antioxidants
ingredients. I still wanted to feel like I was feeding my skin.
I find it super easy to just spray on my face and move on to the last step especially on those Lazy Days but again this is an optional step.
Last Step, Moisturizer (A must!)
Yay, last step before we get to go to bed. It's moisturizer time! It’s definitely a must to moisturize, there are so many benefits to keeping your skin hydrated. Applying moisturizer to the skin will help keep a youthful appearance to the skin, fight wrinkles, reduce skin problems such as acne and overall keep the skin healthy.
My favorite night time moisturizer of all time is the Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask. Everyone needs this product in their life, I swear by this I promise. It moisturizes, brightens and overall improves the skin's appearance. It's truly all you need to survive the lazy night we all have sometimes. You will wake up so glowy as if you did your entire skincare routine the night before, lol.
Quick recap! Cleansing the skin after a long day is definitely needed and I would not skip this step at all, even if you decide to skip everything else, DON’T skip this one, your skin will thank you later. The following step is toner which is completely optional and takes seconds to apply if you are using a spray bottle. Third is moisturizer, which I highly recommend to just complete this step, you've made it so far already girl, you can do this. This skin needs to be moisturized no matter what skin type you have and you are going to wake up with glowy skin, we all want that!
